What is a perfect relationship?
Thank you dear Friends for such an immense response to the question:
„What
is the perfect relationship”
We received a wide variety of answers, defining aspects that make living
together with each other a peaceful journey.
I am so very happy to see how many of us are awakened to the fact that it
depends on our growth to make it or break it.
There were also those of you saying that there is no such a thing as a
perfect relationship. Maybe the ideal relationship is a better word?
Thank you also for your patience to wait out my answer to the question:
My answer is my opinion and working practice.
Very rightly as many of you were saying: One must define what „Perfect”
means.
I believe that every one of us is in a relationship to grow.
Fort hat
matter, you are in the perfect place to receive all that you need.
The number one ingredient which will make this journey- having the same
goals in life. And it is your journey in the frame of our partner, is your
commitment to growing and therefore the commitment to stay there and work it
out with loving-kindness. You do that, both of you to reach that goal together.
So having at least one common goal which is beyond materialistic things is
the key.
The second is to define love together and have a mutual understanding that
Love is one-way giving.
Then there are all the rest of the characteristics, with mutual
understanding of the definition and practical application-- as you were saying
it so excellently:
- Trust, honesty, devotion,
patience,
- acceptance and gratitude,
having no expectation
- standing by thick and thin,
supporting the other’s person dream,
- Being happy for their happiness
- Encourage, acknowledge, and
respect
- Giving as much as one can and
being able to say no kindly.
- Teamwork and role distribution
- At times and in different
aspects of your life your spouse will be leading you and teaching you, and
other times you will take that role. The smooth realization of this along
makes the dance flow with the music
- Compassion and good-will
- Attention, listening, objective
observation and communication,
- Be the one who the other person
fear will dissolve
Being aware of your conditioning and working them out to an extent that you
can manage another person in your life is another key point before entering
into a relationship in my opinion.
Accepting your relationship as a growing platform, a part of your journey
can greatly help you to stop craving for another relationship or people who are
more patient or more this or that.
I am firmly standing by that love can bring transformation to everyone. We
have seen many instances of violent people who are changed by love. This change
may not occur to everyone in this life.
Having developed insight and understanding of the place where the other
person stands along with unconditional pure love flowing in you will bring you
guidance about the relationship and your exact role in it.
One must understand that we are all conditioned. Your partner with his or her anger issues is also conditioned.
There are instances you must leave them by having deepest peace and wish
them the best. There are cases they need other experiences than the one you
could provide. You must leave a place where your well-being is threatened. You
must leave skillfully and in peace.
Your job by you leaving may have been to bring the other person to the
realization that they must clean themselves out.
My husband and I came together by so-called divine guidance. We both had to
make a decision and walk on the path of truth first. Which is a rough and painful
experience for the ego. That was the path of salvation though. Only after that
did make God visible to each other. No one can understand the magic God is
creating by knowing exactly what you need. We are two very very different
people. As I have been saying it's a funny joke of God by putting us together,
however, we feel that we are traveling towards our highest goal. More stories

Your relationship is perfect for your age, and your maturity to provide you
the „playground” to build a castle, have a family and fulfill your dreams.
The most important for me is to make you realize, that you must have a
common goal. Before you start looking for the perfect him or her, sit down and
work out your highest goal in your life.
If you are in a relationship now and you don't have this goal, then make
one.
I second this saying:
It is not the journey, but who you are traveling with.
Awaken to your journey and you will have others joining in. You will have
other people joining in for sure. If not for marriage but as a friend for sure.
And as one of you was highlighting having a friend for life is a perfect
relationship. Begins with being your friend and finding home within your mind,
heart, and body.
